A big party has held in London at the O2 Brixton and of course we were blow away by London’s very own, Gorgon City. Spectacular visuals accompanying the songs made quite the event.
This is Gorgon City‘s biggest tour yet. Having started off a couple of weeks ago in Glasgow they brought it all back to the UK again. Producers Kye “Foamo” Gibbon and Matt “RackNRuin” Robson-Scott know how to make a show massive, so mammoth that it felt like it was the first performance of the tour, not a few shows in. The set kept building up and amplifying, even if you didn’t know any of Gorgon City‘s tracks you would not be left disappointed and be left a loyal fan.
Showing off new track Smile, the guys made everyone’s feet gyrating, keeping the heads in a deep trance respectively. Gorgon City have the ability to make sure all are having a cracking time, creating an environment for good vibes only. A mini festival was born at the O2 Academy, proving that the masses were ready to start their weekend off right.
The North London produces presented their well-crafted skills, forming dynamic and racing beats that make people move uncontrollably. The duo is putting in the hard yards making sure the bass lines and rhythms where heavenly and lavish. The extended version of Imagination in the middle of the set was the ideal way to keep the crowd eyes and ears enchanted and enthralled.
Showcasing a fantastic caliber of amazing singers and performers, Lulu James‘ vocals had the ability to take over the stage, it was truly captivating. At no point was she standing still and constantly engaging with the sold out crowd. While Josh Barry charmed us with his magnetic vocals and interaction on and off stage was pure joy to watch. A One Dance cover was a superb way to break up the nights proceedings and a step away from the duo’s music but only for a little bit. Before returning to their catchy and infectious anthems that won the crowd over with each track.
An unbelievable light show created the perfect visuals to go along side each track. Sparkle confetti flew through the air creating a magic moment for the band and the audience. By taking advantage of the abundance of space the O2 Brixton has to offer is quite the task. Each time a song started and the crowd lost their minds, was an indication that they executed it perfectly.
Special guest MNEK making an appearance near the end for their huge track, Ready For Your Love. A true crowd and chart favourite, it translated on stage without a fault. Sliding across the huge stage with his luscious vocals and cheeky smile. A great way to blow the roof off before it was time to pack up and head home with ringing ears and beating chests.
The best way to describe Gorgon City‘s show was pure magical madness. They undoubtedly have built up a reputation for delivering a good night out and without a doubt left a monumental and overwhelming impression on the flood of people that filled O2 Brixton last Friday night.
